The boat awaits Us All…

At the forefront of this 4-piece is the booming baritone and piercing falsetto of lead singer Kirk Dath.

Principal songwriter, and founder, Dath is the voice that guides listeners through torrid scenes of desire, or ushers them across the River Styx with mellifluous whispers of absolution.

Using a carefully-honed lead guitar, Ryan Arnold provides depth and drama to the music, employing both ferocious bone-cutting solos and rich, nuanced tapestries of sound. With the intensity and focus of a surgeon, Christian Mills controls the low-end with lyrical bass lines and heavy doses of fuzz, all while Darren Farnsworth, the well-oiled engine of the group, provides both propulsion and elegance from behind the kit.

Lyrics

  • Where

    Standing in the doorway

Standing in the doorway, asking why, Yeah why?

    I want her so badly,

I want her so badly to know I’ve got to go

    Down that road

    To save my soul

    Sing it to me softly

Sing it to me softly, I said oh oh

This place has got quite little for me

I must part with good company

I got to go south, I’ve got to go west

I’ve got to be free, free From the rest

    Drowning in love,

Drowning in love And I’m drunk Yeah I’m drunk

    Where will you go,

Where will you go, Girl I don’t know, I don’t know

    Far, far from my home,

    from my home

  • Turned Wild

Oh my child, oh my child

    I fear you

    have turned wild

    Oh my child

Heart gone black, heart gone black

    Turn to the forest

    Don’t look back

Heart gone black - Hit that road.

Dig your hole, dig your hole

    Under the tree

    Save your soul

    honey dig your hole

Oh my child (Oh my child)

Oh my child (Oh my child)

I fear you (I fear you)

    Have turned wild

    Oh my child

  • I’ve got a blade too real in my pocket

He’s been drinking all night long

He’s been thinking about that woman

He’s got some devilish deeds going on tonight

And I’ll creep in through her bedroom door

He watched sleep with her head on the floor

She’s been messing around all over town

He makes not a sound as I slip under her gown tonight

He whispers he loves her and she started moan

He watched breathe Yeah, but not for long

He touched her face if she knew how I feel

He kissed her throat with the side of my steel tonight

Down to the river but the water’s too low

He went to the field yeah, but that farmer would know

Down to the desert and I dug up that hole

And tossed her down, down, down Into that Hell below tonight

  • When I went walking out on the devil’s sand

The desert she whispered and took me by my hand

She led me through the split in my mind

And when I ain’t with her My heart aches in 3/4 time

The wind it howls like a lady moan

The wind it howls oh, like a lady moan

Well I can’t be too sure

But I hear her calling me home

I lay me down atop this stone I been tamed

I lay me down atop this stone I been tamed

Oh and before my two eyes

I see her dancing in the flames

The storm it's clapping all across these mighty bluffs

The storm it's clapping all across these mighty bluffs

Oh and she is my diamond

    And I am her rough

When I went walking out on the devil’s sand

The desert she whispered and took me by my hand

She led me through the split in my mind

And as my body withers I pray she hold me when I die

  • So I went down to get my sister from Rainelle town

She fell in a pot of trouble, wasn’t easily found

So I asked me around, oh yeah I asked me around

I said have you seen a soul black as Greenbriar coal

    (Yeah she been found)

Down by meadow river, down on the track

She’d been tied up real good, she was laying on her back

She’d been foolin’ around, She’d been messin’ around

And I could hear them rails howlin’ with about 9 1/2 million pounds

(yeah but not my little sis sounded just like this you ready?)

So I said “hey there little sister, what have you done?”

She said “ I stole some money, oh brother how I run

But they caught up with me. Yeah they caught up with me

I said I’d rather be strewn about these rails then put down in Plemmons Cemetery”

(Yeah, not with all them liars and crooks ain’t that right?)

So I untied her tired limbs just in the knick of time

And as the train flew by we got some fightin’ on our mind

So we head back to town, yeah we head back to town

And best believe when we caught up with them two men

How we gunned ‘em down, yeah we gunned ‘em on down

Oh and we buried their bodies where they ain’t never gonna be found

So I grabbed my six shooter and horse I came in on

Little sis on the back with her pump action shotgun

We got the hell out of dodge, we got the hell out of town

Yeah because little ol’ West Virginia don’t like us coming around

  • The devil he lives inside me

The devil he walks beside me

    He’s comin’, comin’ for ya

He’s gonna, gonna get ya, ahh

But love she grew inside me

    Love walks side beside me

    And I watched her die

    I kissed her eyes, eyes

Oh me oh my, oh me oh my, oh me oh my, oh me oh my

Spoke the rattlesnake on his deathbed lie

deathbed lie, deathbed lie, deathbed lie

    Down to the Styx

    The hooves on the bricks

    Theres arms reaching for me

    To pull me below

Me below, me below, me below

Jump in the boat To Hell I go, Hell I go

    Striking a deal

    With the fallen son

And he’s trying to tell me that I ain’t the one

Ain’t the one, ain’t the one, ain’t the one

    Unshackle my darlin’

    From your walls

She ain’t nothing but a shadow to you that’s all

to you that’s all, to you that’s all, to you that’s all

    Consider yourself

    Fairly warned

Or I’ll have the sirens sing you a storm

You a storm, you a storm, you a storm, you a storm

  • Well it don’t bother me none to call you a thief

Yeah you stole from me damn near everything

My time and my lovin’ and damn near all my money

Kissing you turned with the seasons change

Your lips taste like rain what a filthy exchange

Watch me burn with a forest fire

You got me fleeing my home before the sun rises

Birds of prey they take flight

Yeah they wander by day but they’re huntin’ by night

    Yeah I’m huntin’ by night

    Honey, where you been

    When I’m cold and tired

I need to warm my bones

    Beside your fire

    But you ain’t home, no

    Lying on our bed

    I’ve got these crazy thoughts

    Pumping through my head

    Steppin’ to our porch

And I see red, I see red

Honey, I know where you been

    Honey, you ain’t too sweet

Honey, I know where you been

Honey, you ain’t too sweet, no

    Honey

    Honey

Honey, I know where you been

Honey, you ain’t too sweet- no no

  • This is the place where lovers come

I’m packing my bags because I am done with this town

I’m taking the first train out

The rumble from this lonesome train

Makes me repeat the same words in my brain

And those words are driving me from sane

Nashville you’ve got something fine But it ain’t for me

You give it to other men

But it's too far from my reach, oh

Back home to Salt Lake City

Where the water is clean And the air is shitty alight

I won’t be fooled twice - Take it away

  • Well she cries upstairs

    Weeping into the night

    My widows’ leaking the sound

    Though it's locked up tight

And her hounds got me wishin’

That I packed up my trunk

When I was low on mercy

And I was rich on luck

Now ’m gone with the breeze

    From a summer’s eve

And I’m crawlin’ like a worm

    Trying not to be seen

    But your bird fly down

    And she’s hungry for meat

She got the taste for love

    From a bad, bad seed

    And my lungs breath first

And my feet have been worse

‘Cause I’ve been walkin’ this line

Like the man in the hearse

And I’m tired of lying still

I need to straighten the wheel

    I’m pushin’ on the gas

    I’m gonna wreck this steel

  • Blood Black

It's the sound of the bass beating me to death

And it's the smell of the gin on my breath

And it’s the sway of the belt wrapped around your hip

It's the anticipation from a zipper unzip

It's the lipstick stain on the edge of your glass

Yeah, it’s the pattern of your smoke as you blow on past

And It's the shine of the street lamp on your blood black hair

It's the rhythm of your high heels hiking up my stairs

    It's a dream

    Gonna make you scream

Oh it's when you drive the way you shift them gears

Makes my life shorter year by year

And it's the bottom of the arch at the small of your back

Yeah you’re a cruel, cruel woman with the heart to match

Yeah it’s how you sit at the foot of my bed

Yeah it's the cold pressed pillow propped behind my head

And it's the voodoo you spit out of your lips

Yeah its tucking me in with your midnight kiss

    Gonna make you...

Get on the list!
